Anyone else notice a severe decline in attendance at the Long Island match today?
I got there around 10 and left by noon. It was a ghost town!
Great weather though!!!
We would have been out of there by 11:30 but you had to BS for 30 minutes!
The turn out did seem to be light but since there were three of each stage set up that made waits much shorter. I shot the M well and did ok on the plates my 5-glock was sub par. I had fun as usual. Dave and Julie did their usual great job.
It couldn't have been too light, Alice didn't pre-register and when she signed up at 0945 hrs. today she was 195, I'm sure they had about 225 total which is about standard for Long Island I believe, But I'm old so what could I know???????????
That age and cunning will beat youth and inexperience every time.
I signed up at @ 9:45 yesterday and was 144
"But I'm old so what could I know???????????"
But Glenn ( Spelled with 2 N's and both N's are the same.)we are sooooo old How Could We Ever Be Wrong? ;f ;f ;f ;Y ;Y ;Y

Don, I thought it was "both ends" are the same! ;f ;z ;Q
Yep, that too. ;f ;f ;f ;c ;c ;c
"Both ends" had a 46, 48 and 62 at Long Island, you can guess which score went with which gun.
ROGER THAT!!;f ;f ;f
Darn; are we sure he is shooting at the same targets I am? Heck I have been know to get those scores on only one stage. ;f ;f ;f
Congratulations there "Old Guy" I know you have worked hard to get to this level. You're still a nice guy either way. ;N ;N ;N ^c
Very Nice shooting Glenn! It's nice to see an "older Guy" do so well!
good match, and a nice range...though i did have to dump some sand out of my shoes at the end!
the ROs all did great jobs, and were real nice...
i got to watch GJM shoot a few times. fast, smooth, and very accurate! i tried to put a scare into him by calling 1 of his obvious doubles a miss, but the ROs were on top of it and overruled me! in return, GJM wished me luck before i shot my 5tg stage...at least i think thats what he whispered in my ear when i was at the line!
i didnt shoot very well in UL (too many penalties), but had my 2 best scores ever in AC and Competition, including personal bests on all 3 stages.
I agree with Driver, the range was great and the weather cooperated this year unlike last year. The ROs did a great job and I was very lucky and had a very good day. It was nice to see Julie and Dave again after just seeing them last week at Conyers. It was nice to see many old friends at the range and hope that many of them make the SHORT drive to Jackson next year. Driver,it was good to see you again and it was good that you had your earmuffs on when I whispered to you, what I actually said was, " Have a great shoot, Shooot slow, Don't miss, I'm not staring at you, Don't shoot wood, and There's not a GIANT bug on your neck sucking blood out of your body, I think that's what I said, but I'm old and I don't remember real well anymore.;Q ;Q ;Q ;Q . Only kidding, It was good to see you and I knew you were only kidding about the double, you were weren't you.;f ;f ;f . Your lucky I knew you were kidding or I would have asked Frank to kick sand at you when you were up.;f ;f ;f ;N ;N ;N . Oh yea, by the way it's GJM.^3
lucky??? lucky is when your steel shot on the glock m stage ricochets onto a paper target and hits the "a" zone to make up for a miss! i think luck had very little to do with your scores. great shooting GJM...
Prior to LI, I had only shot NH and MA (long time ago) - 5 hour ride from People's Republic of Mass. Weather was good, people were great(especially Julie), shot okay (slow than I had liked, but all on target)....
Registered at the match and was finished one-hour later. Seemed like a low turn out but, as others stated - there were three of each stage set up.
RO's were helpful as usual. Maybe I'll make this an annual event.....
Ms. Julie - the picture says it all!
