I took my Glock 27 to a range that had a metal plate, human size, up on the side of a mountain about 200 yards away. Using the sight only to line up the left and right sides then holding about a foot over the plate I was able to hiy it 3 to 4 times per mag. My friend hit it 1 time per mag. It sounded like the bullet hit a full second after the gun fired.

I Love shooting handguns at long range! Remember the bullets got there much faster than you think because it took time for the sound to get back to you. Good shooting!

Well, I am not that good. (Don't spend as much time at the range as I should.) But can put 10 holes in the paper at 50 yards per mag with my 26. This seems to surprise some of my friends.

I am new here. and just found the clubs. Am I now a member?

With the bullet traveling close to the speed of sound, at a range of 600 feet you mentioned, it will take about 1.2 seconds between the shot and the sound returning. This is just an in the head calc, not exact, but your were correct in your assessment.
