New to the forum but have read it for years.

I just bought a Lone Wolf G23 barrel stock lenght and it shoots very nicely.

    I want a G23 to 9mm conversion in 5.32 lenght and another S&W .40 in 5.32 lenght. I can use it them in my G23 & G27.

Just not sure who is better, Lone Wolf or Storm Lake?

When I ordered my Storm Lake barrel I was told that the G23 .40>9 conversion barrel (4.72 inch double ported) would work fine in my G27. I bought the G23 since my next purchase will likely be a G23 and I can use it in both pistols.

There are a lot of people that like the LW conversion barrels. Storm Lake and KKM make some very high quality match barrels.

LW is the higher value barrel but SL may be the higher quality.

I have a storm lake 40s&w barrel standard length and a lone wolf 40-9 conversion barrel for my G23. I have not had any problems out of either one. One thing that I did notice is that the chamber is tighter so if you reload keep that in mind. I swap the barrel back and forth between my g23 and g27.

I have had LWD barrels and the LWD conversion barrels for awhile, now. They all perform great. I have not had any issues with them. The only problem was a very long wait for a 40 - 9 conversion barrel for one of my G23s. It took about 3 months. It was well worth the wait.

I have two LWD barrels for my G23. I am immensely satisfied with them and have no issues. About $110 each.

Just got my Storm Lake the other day for my 17. I've only put about 100 rounds through it and these are my observations. The barrel is nice and was a drop in replacement for the stock barrel. The load I had worked up for the original barrel does not work well in the new one. Accuracy when out the window with the old load. The 147s I loaded to try worked out very well and will be using them in the future. I need to do some work on the load for the 125s and fix the accuracy issue. Thats my limited experience with Storm Lake.

I got a Storm Lake G27 40-9mm conversion barrel and some G26 mags for my G27 and totally love it.
    Ran 200 Speer Duty GDHP 124 +P 9mms flawlessly.
In my hands; the gun is more accurate, has less recoil and ejects better with this barrel than OEM 40!

I think I may have lucked into the way to deal with the whole 9mm ejector issue LOL!.

Plus I've got an X-Grip and G19 mags too for that compact size thingy.

I have a Storm Lake 10mm to 40 conversion barrel tight chamber but polishing helped make it perfect. I'd probably consider LW but I'm not paying 10 bucks to remove the silly logo from the barrel hood.

My Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion works great in my G23 and G27. I hear good things about Stormy, but for the price and the accuracy I am getting, it's LW all day long.

Been happy with my 40-9 KKM. I have about 1000 rds through with one FTE and it could've been the WWB ammo.

How well do the LWD .40-9 barrels work in the Gen2 G23?

I didn't have experience with any aftermarket barrels, but from what I understand Lone wolf makes good barrels that are fairly inexpensive. But again, I have used neither.

OK, Lone wolf it is then.
    Thanks guys for the feedback.
I hate ordering something only to find out there was something better.

Good luck. Post your impressions of your new barrel back here. I for one would be interested...
