    I'm pretty sure it was designed to help us lowly CA residents get around the "Safe Handgun Roster", by fulfilling one of the main requirements for Single Shot Exemption. Google California Single Shot Exemption, it's more than I feel like typing right now.

    It would be nice if they made a 16" barrel to use with a roni or similar carbine kit.

    I'm not sure, but I think since it starts as a pistol, you'd still have to register it as a sbr to stock it. Unless it came from the factory with the long barrel. Even then, I don't know.

    No you do not as long as the 16" barrel is installed. It is the same with a Mechtech conversion.

    Being new to guns, I gotta ask: Why would you want a 9 inch barrel? Does it increase muzzle velocity, or accuracy?
