I'm sure a lawyer somewhere is spinning an insanity defense this very minute. Hopefully he'll take a round to the head and we won't get that far in the judiciary process.

Yeah that's crazy. I wonder what he is armed with to bring a chopper down?

I'm sure just about any rifle made could take down a helicopter. They aren't bullet proof.

We won't know until the PD talks. You could almost feel the anger in the line about the PD not telling the reporters what weapon was used.

Crimps their rant. They can't go off on their crusade until they know what to crusade against.

Very tragic, for all involved, my thoughts and prayers are with their families, but this line from the beginning of the article caught my attention:

"The violence began shortly after noon when the injured man was found on a rural stretch of road. A deputy who went to investigate fled after he heard gunshots, police spokeswoman Corrine Geller said."

Just wondering what the outcome could've been...

Thought "protect & serve" was kind of a motto for l.e.

I bet he had a, "EVIL AUTOMATIC ASSAULT RIFLE with high velocity ammunition and high capacity magazines."

Next, we will here how more gun control laws are needed.

Then we will here that all the shootings will go away just as soon as we close the gun show loop hole.

No, more armed people that can shoot the bastard is what we need. Proactive and preemptive is the name of the game. I'm sure that there are several other things that can be added as well. The problem is, the Libs will never learn or want to learn these truths. What a shame. What a sad story.

People that know the suspect are saying:

He has "tactical training" of some kind

He is an ex-LEO, who lost his LEO job for beating a suspect in a crime or crimes

He was a security guard in Lynchburg

He is "not going down without a fight"

I know Chris Speight, I used to work with him. He has always been a bit unstable, but apparently has gone off the deep end. He has extensive tactical training, and lots of weaponry. I know this isn’t going to turn out well for anyone involved, but I pray for the families of those he killed. And a pray God has mercy on his soul.

    ---------------

A long time ago i took a security training class with him. I never really knew him that well, but someone told me he had also worked in law enforcement and had been fired for beating a suspect. -dont quote me on this.

I know whenever a situation like this occurs, when the person knows the suspect, they always say they can’t believe what happened. I kind of can. Chris was always paranoid of the government. He used to work as a security officer in Lynchburg. I’m stunned more than anything else. But I know this man, and I know he’s not going down without a fight. He needs to be stopped before he can hurt anyone else.

    Ahh, got it.

Taking out a chopper requires a serious amount of BALLS, if nothing else. Guys like him are a black eye on any/every law abiding group or entity he's currently or formerly associated with.

    Is he dead yet??

Actually, aircraft, unless armored, are quite vulnerable to just about any bullet. They are basically a motor and a flying gas tank in a fragile shell.

Terrain is described as trees, clearings, and some fields. A hovering choppah is a sitting duck to anybody who can shoot.

It is, of course, ballsey to shoot at somebody who has a radio and can pinpoint your location to the world.

This is a tragedy for the families of those involved and for the LEO's who are looking for this SOB. It is a shame, but they will use it as ammo, no pun there, for their cause and crusade of disarmament.

If only one of those eight people shot the POS where he was standing. No one ever points out the most obvious common sense fact of anything anymore it seems.

I mean if you have a fire raging, you run for the hose or extinguisher right?
If someone is shooting at you, you seek cover if its available and return fire on the SOB and get him before he gets you. Makes perfect sense.

Why are you assuming it was a LEO? It could have been a deputy council-member, deputy mayor, animal catcher, etc.

    Just saying. :wow: (t-i-c)
