I recently purchased my second G19. When I compared the two guns I discovered that my original pistol doesn't have a separate locking block pin (the block is secured by the trigger pin) while the new one has a locking block pin. When was this design modification implemented? Is there an upgrade program that provides for changing the older pistol to include a separate pin and a different locking block?

    Good question.
The frames were completely standardized to 3 pin by the release of Gen3. There is no reason to upgrade your 2 pin gun.
