I really never believed it would be this easy to get us all to voluntarily provide the government the data they need to track our every move but here we are. The NC Dept of Health and Human Services now has an app you can install on your phone so you can see if you have been near anyone else that has had the covid...

They claim it’s anonymous. Yeah, right.

    Search the store for SLowCOVIDNC.

Do you have google maps installed or any other GPs program? Do you keep your phone’s battery in your phone?

    You're already being tracked.

The difference here is this is the government... a direct line to them...

I thought covid was so contagious that everyone nearby would catch it, spread it, then die. But now we need a .gov app to tell if we were even near it? Seems legit.....;)

At this point, I don't trust Google or Apple any more than I do the government. Maybe less.

200,000,000 just died according to Joe, so there's plenty of social distance available. No need for the app.

But Google and Apple promised anonymity for the participants. ;)

Oh yeah sure.... I'll just step right up to install it on my flip phone. Even if I wanted a so-called "Smart" (tracking device) phone - so very nope...

Saw link to this YT "Inside Edition" tv show video portion yesterday in a thread here somewhere yesterday. "Oxford Police Dept." body cam, Ohio? College house parties despite Covid restrictions - ofcr. states/asks: 'thing comes up on the computer [patrol car MDT?] that you tested positive for Covid...'
    REALLY!?

Golley gosh.... so that phoney bs about HIPAA medical info privacy is/was what, Medical Privacy Algebra? (a=b EXCEPT) **snort**

I know lots of people that are terrified of this Covid crap.
One of the photographers I use occasionally, showed up at last weeks show wearing a full respirator face sheild. I have no idea how he got the decent photos that he did.

I am not doubting that Covid is real, but other than wearing the required face covering, I have really changed nothing about how I live my life day to day and do not need or want any app to warn me that I might be exposing myself to Covid. I just am not that concerned about it.
There are just more important things as far as I am concerned.

The livestock will blindly accept protection from the wolves while those protecting them, heard them off to be slaughtered.

I don't know of anyone who has downloaded one of these tracking apps.

No it's not. Google has set up Exposure Notifications on the Android phone but you still have to download an app to use it. Mine is turned off, all location permissions for Google are turned off, and I have not downloaded an app.
