Been in Tucson all week at a conference. Driving home all day on the Interstate and Rez Roads got used to those high speeds. Arrived home and apparently my Ford EcoBoost got me from 0 to 40 in a 25. Pulled over. Nice young officer...gave him my concealed card with my license. Had my Colt Mustang .380 next to me on the passenger seat. Got a warning and the comment that, "We appreciate citizens who carry." How cool is that!? Small town of 7,000 with usually only two officers on duty at a time.

Our sheriff sends out renewal paperwork several months before your LTC runs out.

Fill out the page, walk in, pay $20, smile for the camera and walk out with new permit. 5 minutes.

I posted a while back that when my wife was stopped and let the officer know she was licensed (shows up with our DL in MI) but not carrying, the female officer asked her "why not?"

Despite what you hear most Police are in favor of competent armed citizens.

    Type backwards.

On thread, my brother-in-law is the former police chief of a very large city. He loves that I carry and take his sister to the range with me.

It is not dope. If it was dope he would have been tazered, arrested, and thrown in jail for life, for possession of that evil killer drug.

Lived on the Western Slope of Colorado (the freedom side of the mountain) for a few years, my biggest problem with OCing was people stopping me to thank me or ask questions. Was at a farmer's market when an older cop and young kid (I suspect FTO and rookie) approached and the FTO thanked me for OCing and shook my hand, said 1 OCer was better than 6 CCers in detouring criminals and we talked guns for a while. As they left the FTO said "If you ever see me in trouble please don't hesitate", I think it was a teaching opportunity for the rookie.

My wife got stopped for speeding by a South Carolina State trooper and when she disclosed that she has a valid concealed carry permit and currently had a loaded .38 snubby on her, the trooper replied... 'well we encourage our citizens to be safe,'

It makes sense that many of our LEOs are getting it.

Statistics show that an armed populace reduces the crime rate. When the crime rate is lowered, cops are safer.

Works for them.......and works for the rest of us, too.

(.....even works for the antis! :alex:)

Happened to me once, too. First time pulled over armed. Young kid, fresh out of the academy. 2 feet of snow on the ground, and I just reminded him that it's all about getting home. MO is not a must-inform state, but there needs to be zero room for issues no matter where you are.
