I have been out of pocket for a few months, and would like some feedback on pricing. At the local gun shows in Dallas less than a year ago, prices for base non-nightsight guns 17, 19, 22, 23, 31, 32, etc, were $439, with typically higher prices for porting, night sights and other upgrades. Prior to Christmas of 2009, those same prices at the same shows jumped to over $500, but at the last show those same comparable guns were $445 (plus tax). Any market forces that caused that swing? Political, financial, Euro vs/US$?

Over the last year and a half the gun market has been tumultuous to say the least. Many guns were hard to find some were easy but no ammo was available in those calibers. Prices went up with demand and seem to have settled down some now.

Bought my G17 a month ago. Normal price at my local store out here in CA was $599, but they were doing an in-store special, for $549. That was about the best I could find with out driving all over NorCal. Out the door (Docs + tax) was about $630.

Impact Guns in town has 4th Gen 17 and 22 for $539 before 6% tax.
Used Glocks in 95%-better condition are around $425 to $450 private party or gun shop (and add tax).

Cabelas is a bit higher at $569 for that G4-17. But they do have a sale or coupon, sometimes $100 off.

My go to dealer normally sells his 9/357/40 Glocks for $489 plus tax. He held that price during the whole election thing. He is now getting a few of the Gen4 models in, and they are $525 plus tax, but heck, that includes 3 magazines.

Here in North California. Bay Area.

I put my deposit down for a G34 which was $680 plus 9.25% tax and $35 dollar dross.

I got a call from the Gun Shop telling me Glock stop making the G34 in OD Green with 10 round mags and got my $600 deposit back:steamed:
