I'm in Rochester NY now but lived in the Catskills and the Bronx as well (born there).

I love firearms as everyone here does, my favorite 3 pistols are Glock, 1911's and Sig.

I'm looking foward to sharing knowledge about all firearms and making some friends along the way.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of the community.

I haven't seen enough of the world to have the real knowledge to totally agree that they are the best in the world but I like 'em. Tom Wahls isn't bad either but I prefer to go to the original place in Avon for them. Charlies is good too... :)

Tom Wahls is good. There's lots of good burger joints in Rochester. The old infamous Nick Tahoes, too.

The common theme among them is the hot meat sauce. :wavey:

Up here it's "Michigan" Hot dogs, a North Country specialty. (that's what they call 'em, here in NE NY.)

Well that makes no sense, since they come from Rochester, NY

Zweigles is the best hot dog producer, 130 years old, from Rochester. White hots were invented by the German community there. That's where my roots are. My father, son of German immigrants from circa 1900 turn of the century, worked as a meat cutter and in meat packing companies. Some elder German relatives did the same. I remember as a kid spreading white hots across the country on family car trips to older German Rochestarians who had retired to places like Florida or Arizona. Not just my family, but a network of many families, typically tied together through the German church.

As I understand it, the pork, beef, and veal mixture in white hots is unique from the more traditional white veal sausage that came from Germany.

    :)
