I have been interested lately in affordably (for me) priced guns and how their performance stacks up against more expensive and popular guns so here is a little experiment. I took a hike yesterday to a nice secluded range with my Taurus PT99 and Pt140 Pro. It was between 25 and 34 degrees and light to moderate freezing rain. I carried my PT99 in my pack and my PT140pro on my belt. By the time I got out to the range my PT140 was wet with some ice pieces formed on it. My Pt99 was taken out of my pack and sat on the wood table while I put three flawless magazines through the Pt140. I then reloaded one of the magazines and dropped the gun in the mud and emptied another magazine. By this time the rain and wind had picked up so the PT99 was soaked inside and out. I fired 4 flawless magazines through the PT99 using the same process. I do like to see good results from more economically priced guns. I realize many dont see this type of testing as relevant but in my opinion it does have some merit.
