The G26 and G27 were first imported in July 1995, more than six years after Gen2 models were introduced. They set the pattern that would become Gen3 in 1998, except the Gen3 Subcompacts have checkering between the finger grooves. Since the Subcompacts made between 1995 and 1998 lack that Gen3 checkering, the fan base calls them Gen2.5 even though they have no Gen2-specific characteristics. It is definitely an error in taxonomy to call the early Subcompact models "Gen2". They are more accurately "Gen3-".How about my slick finger rest G-26/27’s are they not 2.5’s?
