I'm checking to see if anyone has done a DIY kydex holster lining. I have one spot inside my mtac that rubs on my pistol too much so I was thinking of applying "something" at the corresponding spot in the holster.

    Looking for input/suggestions

Personally I like a lining of pink faux fur.

What pistol? I've never noticed any wear caused by my G26 and 19 MTACs.

The mtac is the slide version for small frame glocks.

Keep in mind that many custom makers don't line their holsters with suede anymore due to grit and debris building up and scratching the finish eventually.

I put electrical black tape over the culprit spot and now it's all smooth. Of course I can't reholster the gun after firing it as the heat will melt it and cause a mess...so this would only be a temporary patch of the issue

Throw your gun down the drive way a couple of times and you wont worry about it anymore.

Actually, I think he'd be better served if he dragged it behind his car on the way to the grocery store.

Carry guns get holster wear. Get used to it. There really is no cure.

Holster wear, like death and taxes, can be avoided for a while, but eventually it catches up. The only other option is to stop carrying and turn all your guns into safe queens.

Spray your Kydex holsters inside & out with some silicone spray, & then buff it down with a clean lint free cloth, This helps the draw to be smoother & protects your gun from holster scratches & wear. Apply this every now & then to keep it drawing smooth.

Spraying anything inside your holster will just attract and trap dirt.

    :agree:

It's gonna get wear over time, just stop worrying about it. It's gonna wear to a point and then stop.

Mole skin like you put on your feet to prevent blisters (self sticking).
