Well, when the financial poop hit the fan, my collection of guns hit the auction block. I was down to one Glock, my trust G35 Gen 4. Now as things are getting better in the economy my Glocks have started to multiply - a new G30S and my wife is buying back my G21 Gen 4 (that I had to sell last year) for my birthday! I can't wait to have that one back home!

Now my .45 carry rotation is complete. A G21, a G30S, and a XDs for when I need something tiny!

Good thing the G30 and the G21 are part of your collection now since ALL the XDs series pistols (45&9mm) have been recalled. It might be a while before you get your XDs back from Springfield.

That's good news--congrats on getting the band back together! I hope that the XD-S makes its way back soon. Check out the posts on the xdtalk forum...people are losing their mind over there.

I'd be losing my mind too, if I didn't have a safe full of non-recall Glocks to keep me safe until my XDs 45 gets back. Love that little pistol, but this massive recall and stupid long wait times are NOT a good marketing strategy. SA gets a big "Oof" on this one. :faint:

never cared for the XD platform, never fit my hand well, but did like their grip safety...the re-call is too bad...

True on the XDs issue. I understand why the recall, I just wish they were a little more on the ball as far as the fix. I'll delay any judgement until I see what happens.

My G30S is my everyday carry, but will work in my G21 when I find a good CCW holster and it gets a little cooler out here on the west coast.

OP1K,

Definitely glad to have some backup firearms available to use while the Springfields are out. When the announcement came out, I was reminded at how S&W released their Shield around the time the XD-S was supposed to come out. SA delayed the release even longer, and I forgot about that since I really enjoyed and relied on my XD-S for carry purposes. Didn't have any slam fire or double fire issue with mine, but the possibility of that occurring prompted me to send mine back for repairs.

I've got lots of magazines and a nice holster for mine, and am hoping to be able to use those again soon. Kinda makes me not want to consider any other purchases from that company until they can get their act straight.

Meanwhile, my CCW rotation is still covered.

It's the troof though!

Glad you have a couple good .45s down there. This place is getting crazy and you're in the hotbed of nutty activity where you live. Keep a good .45 on you and life will be much more pleasant. I keep thinking about those motorcycle morons who beat the guy in New York. Woulda been a much different outcome if that would've happened to me and my family.

When I saw the film, I said the exact same thing to my
wife. My wife said, "You would have shot him, for banging
his helmet on your window?". "Yup, two in the chest, and
one to the head through the window". I would have told
her to plug her ears first. I practice an assault while
seated in a vehicle often. I have a G23(truck gun) and a
G27(IWB carry) loaded in my vehicle at all times, with a
number of G22 mags for reloads...It would have gotten
REAL ugly fast.

Congrats on the G30S. I love mine. I was never impressed with the XDs45 from day one. It sounded like a good idea, but if I could've held one in person before my dealer called and said he had some coming in (he lives in another state BTW), I would've never bought one. Luckily, I haven't sent mine in, as I was going to wait on the rush to die down. Glad I waited. I never carried it that much anyway.

OP, I know your pain. Lost my house last year. I sold a few guns myself. Sold my Mustang.... it was rough. I pretty much got rid of or sold anything that wasn't essential. Landed a good job now, and have two other places wanting me to come work for them.... ain't that how it works.
