I'm getting light strike Fail to Fire when bump firing. It will rapid bump about 5-15 rounds and usually stops with a failure to fire, upon which I eject the round and commence firing. the Lighty struck cartridge can rechambered and will always fire. The primer strike is alot more than a just chambering dimple but much less than a fired primer dimple. Is this normal for bump fire?

You are getting what is called hammer follow, that is where the disconnector doesn't catch the hammer & the follows the bolt closed. That is why the primer has a light hit on it, the surplus or Russian ammo has hard primers & won't fire with such a light hit. If you trimmed the hammer or disconnector to get it to bump better you may have trimmed too much. Try swapping out the hammer or disconnector to get the metal back then just polish the contact surface until you get the bump you want.
I get a good bump with the stock Tapco FCG with just polishing the contact surfaces in my Bulgy 74.

@5.45 shooter , thanks man. I haven't worked on the fire control at all on this gun. It was a new Romy Wasr from Century. It has a Tapco G2 trigger but I don't know about the hammer.

I post on forums to get insight from people who will are willing to help me with my technical questions. :wavey:
Yes lets get very technical about bump firing. Do you have any technical questions about tiddly winks, frog gigging or hillbilly hand fishing?

You should tell this to NASCAR. I can't imagine how much fuel they 'waste' just to get back to the same spot.
NASCAR has a point (well sort of). It is a competition to drive a certain distance in the quickest amount of time.

The point of bump firing? Make loud booms with a dangerous object that is not being aimed. Again firecrackers would lower the cost and danger element. Legit suggestion.

It sounds like hammer follow to me. I don't know enough about the timing of the trigger reset and bolt travel to know for sure, but on some rifles it is possible to pull the trigger faster than the bolt can cycle, causing what you describe. I know you don't want to hear it, my guess is that your bump firing is simply exceeding the limits of the design. It probably won't hurt anything, but I'm not surprised that reliability can be compromised. It's your rifle and your ammo. That means it's none of my business how you use them as long as you are safe. I'm just commenting on mechanics. This type of thing is one of the reasons I don't bump fire my rifles though.

Maybe Jim Fuller should look at it?

(couldn't resist!)

I generally concur regarding bump firing. Silly foolishness. But I agree that it's the hammer follow also. I don't bother. Not sure I'd be doing this with a sketchy WASR period.
