Try eating less food then. I visit Ireland often and usually find that I'm off just about all solid food by the third day. Not because the food there is bad (it isn't), it's that Guinness contains every dietary requirement a man needs in one simple and easily obtainable form. HH

Diet beer is just watered down regular beer. Malts have calories. Use less malts in brewing, you get a lower calorie beer. It'll also be a more watered down beer (lower gravity), however.

The words 'Light Beer' and good do not belong in the same sentence.

Light beer is like light Oreos or light German Chocolate Cake or light Ice Cream.

    What's the point?

Moderation is your friend..... No need to downgrade to light beer, you may need to look at your diet or how many you are drinking, just sayin..... I don't think i could get myself to drink a light beer even if it was free, blehhh.

Definitely. He's got a weight problem that's obviously exacerbated by consuming too much alcohol and your advice is to eat less food?

The best light beer, assuming you mean lower calorie, is Guinness at something right around 123 calories per 12oz.

Lance drinks Michelob Ultra, and the taste is really a moot point after the first few.

I'll sit down with my neighbors and I have 2 or 3 Schlitz Tall Boys to their 7,8 or 9 light beers. The calories probably balance out but I guarantee you I enjoy mine more.

Umm. No. And not just no, HELL NO.

Maybe I should get with GT Mayor OKIE, but it oughtta be against GT law to discuss light beer.

It sucks, no matter how much marketing is behind it.

If you're looking for a good, low calorie beer, try a barley wine. They're called barley wines because, like wine, they are low in calories. They are also made almost exclusively from barely, which is lower in calories than rice, the main ingredient in traditional beers such as Budweiser.

I really don't mind Heineken light. Which is odd because I cant stomach regular Heineken. But if I had to drink a light beer, that would be it. Haven't tried Sam Adams light, but I've heard good things.

Personally I'd rather drink fewer beers and have ones I loved.

The OP never mentioned a "weight problem." What he did was mention a calorie concern and I was simply offering an offset program. Read twice, post once. HH
