The Liberal re-election platform sets out an estimated $250 million they would begin spending next year to buy back thousands of “military grade” semi-automatic rifles as part of a renewed plan to tackle firearms in Canada, the party has confirmed. The $250-million budget is in the platform’s New Investments chapter, on a line titled Tackling Gun Crime on page 82, 10th on a list of 45 new or expanded spending areas for the Liberal re-election drive. Bill Blair told reporters at the Toronto campaign (rifle buy-back) announcement in September the estimate is that 250,000 semi-automatic rifles will be bought back.

Sold! What about my other 3? $250 million is actually my price for one of my rifles. What are they going to use to buy y’alls?

What was it, zero crimes committed with "salt rifles", but they want to buy them back...because?

Next, they'll be taking your knives like the UK. Make a stand.

I have a few broken slides and a worn out holster that I might let go for low 7 figures.

“A U.S. definition of assault rifles says they have the capacity to be fired selectively: semi-automatic, fully automatic or by short bursts of rounds.”

At least the Canadians got the definition right. I wish gun owners in Canada good luck.

I agree however there are some on this forum wanting Trump out. He’s not perfect but he’s better than the alternative.

My $500 Ruger is a military grade weapon and therefore is available for repurchase at the low sum of $50,000. I have about 5-6 so I’d like $250k-$300k in reparations for my black rifles. Anything less and they are #ARshaming

As related to this thread .....

The proposed "buy-out" isn't the Democratic Party platform, it is the Liberal Party platform.

So? They'd pass a buy back tomorrow here if they had the votes for it. It wont happen tomorrow, but it is coming. In the words of our illustrious President, "That, I can tell you".

How do they " buy back" something they never owned? Are they background checked? Have they taken safety training? Are they of good character? I rather doubt it.
