Congratulations to all!
I need to come clean. I was the Scorer of Bobby Carver's infamous
Plates score sheet. The scoresheet was the one in the photo section
without the final run tabulated. I just checked the results and Bobby
was not penalized in his plates score. YEH! Either I completed it
correctly after the photo (I think I did that) or GSSF recognized the
error and gave Bobby the benefit of doubt. Either way, it worked out.
Sorry Bobby about the scare.
I actually achieved a personal record and which was better than my goal.
What is amazing is that I wasn't going to shoot since I was so cold,
hungry, and tired. It was late in the day and Rob, my RO partner,
encouraged me to shoot and gave me some tips. The tips really helped.
I now shoot the 25 yard target first on the 5 which helps me keep my
penalties down. Since I did so well by being cold, I'm thinking I
need to take an ice bath prior to shooting every stage.
I hope everyone feels as good about their performance as I do. Im
especially happy that Bobby came out ok.
All right! I'm a happy camper. Since I get to pick out some free "polymer" for my little carry gun's performance (G26), I'll get over my depression the serious G30 malfunction in MajorSub caused me.
Question: To those of you who have won guns before, how does Glock handle this? Will I get a gift certificate in the mail, or what?
Didn't I read that the choice doesn't involve ALL models? I seem to remember seeing the list somewhere, and I want to say it didn't include the 10mm Glocks and maybe some others, the competition models I'm sure.
Congrats to my Sidearmor Teammates for a 1st Place Finish in Stockmeister and a 2nd Place (when corrected) Finish in Am/Civ. On to Anderson, where I hope you can keep up the momentum.
Boy, it sure is hard to look good in a crowd with this level of talent... there were NINE shooters in AmCiv that finished under 90 seconds! Congrats to the top dogs for some SMOKING runs; that'll sure make me tighten up my game for next year! My 101.77 was only good enough for 14th place...
Frustratingly, I used Competition as a "warmup" with my Amateur gun, and did better than I did shooting Amateur!! D'oh! My wife did too!
My 81.04 in Unlimited was a personal best, but nowhere near good enough to be competitive when the winner has a 51.70...
But I did squeak out a win in MajorSub, which makes a Triple Crown for me, having also won this class at Indy and Hallsville this year. My trusty G36 and Win USA 185gr FMJ make a great combo!
Had fun guys, but I'm still hungry. Lots of work to do in the off-season to sharpen my skillz. Make room in that winner's circle...
I would like to thank GlockMom, DTOM, DEJ/FL & Don at PC for helping me to get my friend John to shoot AM/Civ and for all our work it payed off with a C class gun for John(Now we need a GT name for him), Thanks guys and I'm sure I will see you in Anderson next week now that he's hocked
Looking forward to seeing you and John!!
Congratulations on your 1st Place "C"!!
Ok, I went to GSSFonline.com and did a little research. Glock sends out a voucher, and I suppose it's used to purchase a Glock at the local gunshop of my choice. Anybody know whether it can be one they have in stock, or will I have to order it?
Congrads to all the winners, including new GSSF shooter John, who is now definitley hooked and ready to go to Anderson.
For myself, not only can I not shoot very well, I can't add either.
My scores are a little lower than what I came up with, but I will keep battling and try to do better next year. My disappointing scores are offset by the extremely good time I have making new friends. The 2 and the 4 legged (Check out the photo gallery)
You use the voucher to select the pistol you want, send it with an FFL form to GSSF, and in 6 to 8 weeks, your pistol is shipped to your FFL dealer.
Thanks for the info.
I'll light another candle for Father Gaston this evening- more Tennifer and polymer coming my way.
There are appropriate upgrade fees for different models. If you want a 10MM you include a check for the upgrade fee with the FFL and voucher that DannyR spoke about.
How about this handle for John: John C. Glocker . This relates to his name, the class where he won his first Glock and the fact that he is a Glocker. GEE; I better watch out with this kind of writting talent I may be competing with that Krag fellow; whoever he is. ;i ;i ;i ;W ;W ;W ;+ ;+ ;+
Yep, you're right there with him! ;Q
Except I am a nice guy, friendly, good looking, well matured and have only a short list of excuses.;+ ;+ ;+ ;Y ;Y ;Y
Shooter2, Good job in Major Sub!!! (How did you manage to shoot it faster than your Unlimited?)
My shooting partner won AmCiv. In MajorSub, he had a miss and a couple of +5's starting out on 5 to Glock...before he got his grip figured out. (Watch out. With some practice, he could clean up.)
I also shot a G17 in Competition class to "warm up" for AmCiv. I seemed to have warmed down instead.
I managed 4th AmCiv and 2nd Competition.
Hey Flex, looks like a few more matches and you and your friend will be shooting Master at GSSF.
That would work for me. I wish I would have been shooting them sooner.
(btw, thanks again for the tape!)
WOW! I'm tellin' ya.....I am convinced that Lex is the most competitive of the matches. Look at that amateur talent!!! Great job everyone. Well....my career best Competition score was enough to hold on to for a win....I am sooo happy - but I know I will never shoot that well again. Oh well.
Your goal was to break 100 in AmCiv...and you pull a 67 or so in Competition class for the win. Sounds like some relaxed shooting. Good job.
