Whataburger has announced that the Whataburger employee in question is NO LONGER A WHATABURGER EMPLOYEE PERIOD! I can't believe that this happened in TX. I like the way that Whataburger quickly handled a bad situation and is apologizing for their employee's bad service/refusal to service the officers.

I'm going to guess that if a LEO was at a situation where police service was absolutely needed, and the LEO refused service for no legal reason, the outcry we'd be hearing right now would be deafening.

I'm also guessing that the burger server in question saw himself as a warrior!

If I were a cop in that situation, I would run every car in that parking lot that looks like an empty, over ride and I would see if there was a drug dog in the area that could use a good leg stretch. This happy horse**** needs to stop.

Anyway, in this interest of a little therapeutic fun, an excerpt from one of my favorite cop flicks.

Good riddance to a worthless POS who refuses to serve cops. I used to work at a gas station and I was always happy to serve cops, and firefighters, and paramedics.

You know what most businesses like? Paying customers. Everyone is the equal color of green. This is one id10t at one location trying to assert his control over a fried meat patty because that's the only thing over which he's ever going to have control.

Well... Over which he had control. :whistling: In the immortal words of Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau, "not anymore". It's great to see that Whataburger showed him the door for it. It's nice to see that complete jackassery sometimes has almost immediate negative consequences, since so often it doesn't...

Ehhhh.....he is a fast food worker. Obviously there is a pattern of making poor life decisions.

Whataburger will fire this no body because of the bad publicity, he will continue on in life hating cops, cops will avoid the place because they will worry their food will be contaminated by his friends, life goes on.

Stick this guy on a plane and send his arse to Somolia for a month. He will come back with a new found respect and admiration for LEO.

There still needs to be a loss of business to send a message. Perhaps a 3 day boycott by law abiding citizens of the entire chain.

From what I have read it sounds like this guy has a really unusual sense of humor and a very poor delivery. He still should have been fired, but I don't think he meant any harm.

I've worked with people like that in the past. They just don't seem to understand where the boundaries are when it comes to working with someone they don't know.

To send a message, I thought I posted that. Oh wait, I did. Management acted fast, out of fear. But they still employed the idiot. How do you know it was just the one employee and no local management involved?

If Whataburger loses some business, when this kind of thing happens in the future at other chains, and it will, management will know they better get out front fast.

The only thing good that can be said about the Rangers is that they aren't the Kansas City Royals.

I'm all for boycotts but not in this case unless there are more instances out there of similar accounts. I don't know of Whataburger brass's political bent but other companies like Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's are out there for all to see.

Many Whataburgers employ off-duty officers at night for patron's and employee's safety. Also, I've received free and reduced price food from them over the years while in uniform. Hopefully, this is a very isolated incident.

But I'm not against anyone's personal desire for any boycott. In this case, it doesn't motivate me enough to do so.
