Well it's been a while since I have called wrote and e-mailed, but I did finally get a response from Barron Hills office yesterday regarding H.R. 1022. I just thought others might be interested in what he had to say. I'm not advocating or admonishing him here. Just posting the letter for others to see what's coming out of Dist9. April 5, 2007 Dear Mr. ********, Thank you for contacting my office regarding H.R. 1022, the Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important matter. Throughout my time as a legislator in the Indiana State Legislature and the U.S. Congress, I have been a proud supporter of gun owners' rights and will continue to work hard to protect your Constitutional right to bear arms. As a lifelong sportsman and gun owner, I understand the benefits of responsible gun ownership. Therefore, I am opposed to H.R. 1022 because I believe that it would place an undue burden on the right of our citizens to bear arms. Thank you again for contacting me about this important issue. Please do not hesitate to call me at 202.225.5315 if there is anything else that I can do for you.
