    I've always loved the way the military designates everything.
    Most of the time it makes me wonder who in the hell thought of that???
    It makes sense but does it really need to be so specific?

    Beyond the link to the Marines I don't think so. It is just the appeal of that that make them so freaking cool in so many ways :)

    I was in the Marines from 87 - 89 and attached to 3rd Mar Div as they were finishing the transition to the M9 from the 1911. The 1911s in use were incredibly well worn, as in old and beat up. I would love to have one of those beat up old 1911s these days :)

    The MEUSOC 1911s are a link to the past for the Marines IMO, I would like to have one just for that reason as well. Heck I guess I just want more 1911s in general :rofl:

    I was in the Marines from '66-70. You were probably using the same 1911's I used & they were rattling & loose when I was in. Hell, I was probably using the same guns my Dad used in '41-45.
