Quoted for truth. Healers are one-person dogs, who need a job. I love my brother’s, Teik, who heels me often.

For anyone who doesn't have a Cattle Dog this one might be a little tough to get, but the folks with them understand it perfectly....

Once you become an Australian Cattle Dog's person , they are pretty much attached to your side; quiet, composed, intense, and right there with you, all the time. There's a popular refrigerator magnet that has a close up of a Cattle Dog's face and the caption " I'm right behind you" that sums it up pretty well, because they often are, and you usually dont even realize it until you turn around and there they are, having silently appeared, staring at you intently.

Australian Cattle Dogs are fine dogs, but they require a lot of commitment on the part of the owner. They need a job, and they need a lot of activity, or they can be tough to have , as they can become destructive when bored.....

On the other hand, if you are active and have the time to commit to them, they are a true joy, easy to train , smart, loyal, and a lot of fun.

Your brother needs to train that out of him, treating humans ( especially adult humans) as herd animals is not a good behavior.

A little late here but I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure Sedona is in good company up there.

I totally agree; my brother does not spend a lot of time training him. He works long hours, so Teik spends most of the day alone. I urged him to put a run in, but he won’t. In addition, Teik hasn’t been to the vet in two or so years. I’ve tried to explain proper vetting and what the legal responsibility is for a dog, but my brother doesn’t listen. It’s so frustrating and sad for Teik.
