....the internal locking system on my new 617-6. Never had one before and didn't really want it. But I wanted the gun, a 10-shot, double action .22lr revolver. I do love it a LOT. I can find no issues with the locking system.

I have read/heard differing opinions on the subject. From what I can find out it works better on some guns that it does on others. Just wondering what experiences with which guns some of y'all have had/are having.
BTW may I ask which gun you were referring to?

If you're talking about the hillary hole. I pulled mine and plugged them.

Lots of others have done the same thing. I'll put a few more rounds through the gun and see how it goes. So far the trigger seems fine and accuracy seems unaffected. We shall see what we shall see.

There were some S&W 617's that had short firing pins and horrible triggers. Mine was one of those. That was fixed quickly.

    Enjoy yours!

I have two with the lock. Pulled the flag and deactivated them. The lock doesn't affect the trigger pull. I'm not concerned about deactivating a "safety" since it is only be used for safe storage, not for carry like a traditional safety. Safe storage for me is in my gunsafe.
