I’ve wanted to try some vodka and found the little bottles of flavored New Amsterdam vodka. Peach was the only flavor I thought I might like, but still the idea of fruit flavored alcohol just seems strange.

    What kind are you drinking?

Get normal vodka then mix it with flavored seltzer water.

Although I really don't drink anymore, years of field testing led me to say that SKYY vodka was the best, IMO. When in Russia, I would buy Putinka. Both very good.

I can taste the difference between various whiskies, because if the mash bill and aging and stuff. But all vodka seems nearly the same to me. It tastes like alcohol but not much flavor behind it. Is that why they add flavors or mix it with something else?

Vodka and soda with a lime or lemon wedge.

Titos is the best all around vodka.
Belvedere is great for martinis. or so I've been told... ;)

Chopin FTW. For a much cheaper but almost as good potato vodka, Monopolowa or Luksosowa.

Not much of a vodka fan, but when I do feel like vodka, I like Ketel One or Tito's.

I have some Burnett's cherry vodka. I want to try Crystal Skull for the skull but it is too expensive.

I like my liquor neat. Not mixed. So I don't drink vodka.

Good choice. Luksusowa. Finnish vodkas are pretty smooth too.

As a professional Russian I can give you some vodka tips.
Buy "Hammer & Sickle" vodka at your liquor store. This one is authentic made in Russia. Put it in your freezer. It needs to be very cold. Get some pickled veggies like pickles, tomatoes, squash, asparagus - your preference. Pour your freezing cold vodka in a short shot glass, say a pledge: "За вас, за нас и за Техас!" (Zah vahs, zah nahs ee zah Tey huss") which means "To you, to us and to Texas!", then drink your vodka bottoms up. Don't sip! Don't roll it in your mouth! Just drink it all at once and chase with your pickles. You can chase it with coke or orange juice but it won't be authentic.
And don't do it alone. Vodka is for connecting people, better than a cell phone.
    Enjoy! LOL

Tito's Handmade Vodka of Austin, Texas is the best today. Sorry James Bond.
