My 34 mile outdoor trail has been shutdown, it’s a rails to trails project that’s one of the best trails in the country. It’s only used by a handful of people from the top to the bottom to run, walk, bike and ride horses. Social distance Is no issue what so ever. But let’s leave all these “essential” places open so we can shop shoulder to shoulder for our flowers and landscape stuff. Our Lowe’s and Home Depot Type stores are packed all the time. I think it’s a stupid decision and will let y’all know what the “punishment” is for breaking this stupid law. I guess they will throw me in an overcrowded jail cell

We had retards flock to Santa Cruz because that's what you do when you are off work and the weather is nice. The Boardwalk was closed but let's sit for hours on the beach within 6 feet of each other.

What's the penalty/fine/charge for being on that 34 mile trail?

Who exactly is gonna find you and come "get" you?

The notice said that the towns (2) and the forestry dept closed all access points and the trail was closed. As for what they can do, we shall see. I run and bike the trail several times a week, I’m not stopping. This is crazy.

I live in western North Carolina and the Great Smoky Mountains are closed. It's insane. Resqu2, I'm guessing you are referring to the Creeper Trail maybe. No reason to close that down either. Around here there is supposed to be a stay at home order in place, but I do not see that being enforced. What I do see though is more and more little things like roadside parks and picnic area being closed. Every week more and more small businesses and recreation areas are closing down so there are fewer and fewer places to actually get out and go to. It's like a noose is being tightened and nobody says a word. We just go along with it. THAT scares me.

I know that some of the northern parts of Shenandoah Nat’l Park are closed off. I’m doing a 10-miler outside of Charlottesville tomorrow and last I checked that part of park (trails, at least) are still open.

I'm wondering if I'll be stopped for riding a motorcycle solo when it warms up. At least in some ways it's less dangerous than grocery shopping.

I have been whining about this for awhile. I want to go into the boonies and camp in my RV but all the remote campgrounds are closed. I am thinking of taking my cordless grinder and opening them. I am actually thinking of calling the local USFS office and asking them about it and what the punishment is if I camp there anyway. I think there are good odds they will so go ahead, they think it is stupid too and not patrolling.

The are three costs to this - Liberty, the credibility of authorities, and mental health.

I normally do not get much involved in politics aside from voting but I will be doing whatever I can to get rid of this useless pile of sislolak when he is up for election.

HD and Lowes seem to be down a decent amount. No problem going there, you need to keep the economy moving and get stuff done. Just be sensible about it. I have been to Lowes a couple times and there was no one around. Grocery stores are much worse.

The subtle reason for shutting down all of the outdoor venues is to stop out of state vacation travelers. Locals should have access to it. Some of the things going on are frightening. Printing trillions of dollars when we are already broke scares me.
