I’m in the process of building a 3 gun cart and would like to see what’s out there
Muzzles up or down?
Rugged Gear has models ready to go for about $500.
Muzzle Down. The rugged gear carts are nice, but I’m wanting to build my own.
Make sure you line the part where the muzzle touches the cart with something that won't melt, like silicone rubber.
Good call I’m also doing 1/4 Masonite on the Seats
This is my cowboy gun cart, for me and my wife, so it is designed to hold 2 shotguns, 2 rifles and our ammo and stuff. Technically, cowboy is a 3-gun sport...well 4-gun, really. I started with a red welding cart from Harbor Freight, then I built the platform and painted it to match, and it reminded me of the town in High Plains Drifter, so I painted the top of my ammo box like the sign for the town of Lago, in the movie.
Serious cowboys go much fancier
Picked up the Rolls Royce of baby strollers off cl for $100 and the atv gun mounts for $70. I will get a sheet of Masonite from the office tomorrow and almost be done.
Very nice work on your cart. The coffin looks way to heavy. On a positive note the coffin could dual function for a bed on long match days
Craigslist B.O.B. stroller $80
2x 2Gun ATV mounts from Amazon $80
Works perfectly and still folds like normal for storage. Holds up to 4 long guns and lots of other gear
No pics on my phone currently.
Good call I had ordered 1 double and 1 single, I cancelled the single and made it 2 doubles.
Extra room never hurts. We often run two people on the cart so 4 long guns is necessary. Even if I'm by myself, I'll let others use the extra spots so they aren't lugging guns all day.
Because of the terrain around here, rubber tired carts work much better than baby strollers, especially in the sand, and have much better storage for ammo. Buy the yokes separately.
Last match I saw a guy with one and a jimmy rigged shoulder harness. I never saw how he stopped it. I looked at those and thought pushing would be easier than pulling for the simple fact of stopping.
I didn’t consider tire width for softer terrain. That might be something I need to look into.
I got a Ruggerd Gear baby stroller as match product years and years ago. It work's ok, but I didn't like how the pistol gear and ammo had to go under the long guns, so I sold it to a buddy for cheap and got the pull cart. Put double yokes on each side length wise, and had plenty of room for the big gun bag, ammo and ice chest. Had a umbrella velcro tied to the handle.
But this is the ultimate cart for Rocky Mountain and Iron Man.....
That’s ballin way outside my budget
Just finished mine over the weekend and it will make its maiden voyage on Saturday.
Looks great!! Nice touch with the cooler.
Thanks. Looked better than it worked! Cooler added too much weight to the front when full and made it difficult to maneuver. Going to downsize the cooler a bit (or a lot).
Crown, where in Southern Ill?
