I was hoping someone from CA could answer a question. I was looking to transfer a G21SF w/Picatinny rail to my brother in CA. He was told by a friend that CA approved the 21SF w/ Glock rail but not the Picatinny version. Anyone know if this is true? Anyone from CA purchase the Picatinny version in state? Thanks much for your assistance.

    Sadly correct. :crying:
Picatinny Rail/Ambi mag release model 21SF is not on the CA DOJ approved list.

I am not sure specifically but I believe it qualified as a "new model" and was not able to be grandfathered on the mag disconnect law.

I know it is ridiculous, but you (outside CA) cannot gift a non-roster gun to a sibling in CA. However, a parent or grandparent can. You may have a solution.

Thanks for the correction Jeff. Very interesting choice using the NAMBLA poster boy pediphile and serial killer for your avatar.

I am pretty sure you can have off list handguns legally in CA you just cannot buy them there. Ask your local FFL if a purchase transfer is okay.

You think the California rule is dumb. In NJ, once a smart gun is developed that will only fire for an authorized user is developed and approved by the state AG, only that type of handgun will be allowed for sale in NJ. I dread the day that comes to pass.

Thanks Ron . I am Glad that there is someone else on this forum that does not find this amusing. Could be I am overreacting to someone who identifies with a serial sexual predator and killer.
