Like the title says, I am looking for recommendations for a left hand tactical thigh holster for my G20. I want this rig for when I am backpacking and for my IDPA matches. So there must be a reliable retention system but rapid deployment capable. Currently I have a Fobus paddle holster, but I don't like that it sits where it does (that interferes with my waist belt on the pack.

I have found the following but... asking the GT braintrust to advise yeah, nay...

And price, I would like to keep it below $75.00 if possible (that's the frugal side of me) so that is a consideration. But really I am looking for inputs and ideas. Hopefully I can identify one via the help here and get it ordered tomorrow. I have a 5 day trip coming up starting Friday... so there is some urgency in getting this.

    Thanks!:wavey:

Don't have anything to offer but I need a thigh holster as well. I just got a climbing tree stand this year and when I put the safety harness on it traps my pistol on my hip, so I have to just carry it in a coat pocket.

Thigh holster is not allowed in IDPA.

You may also find it's not convenient for backpacking because it will catch on every tree or bush you pass. Consider a chest holster for that.

Except for the CDI factor, thigh holsters are going to be pretty useless for you.

Do you have an suggestions for a light weight left hand chest holster? I am open to suggestions all around. I forgot about the IDPA requirement, thanks for reminding me on that point.

Blackhawk SERPA with optional chest harness:

I don't know if they make one for the large frame Glock.

Also this from Blackhawk may do it:

I made my thigh holster out of kydex and a blackhawk dropleg platform that had molle straps on it.

That being said, the serpa with chest adapter is a good deal. You can but the adapter for cheap and put your own holster on it too.
