Looking for a unicorn, I've searched the net and didn't get much past an inkling that someone some where made one at some time......

I'm looking for a bolt action rifle that has the bolt left handed but ejects on the right hand side

Only one I remember was Savage Striker but that was a pistol.
Don't know if they ever made a rifle version.

ya, bubbaturbo, that was about all I've found, I saw a Rem 700 about 25 years ago but don't know if that was a custom of factory, supposedly Savage made them, may have been based on the striker but I've not been able to find anything.

Remington 788, definitely a unicorn. There used to be custom receiver/bolt manufacturers who made such animals. These were for center fire benchrest competitors. Don’t know if any are still in business. I always wanted the left bolt right port 30/30 788. No luck

I think that’s an option through the savage custom shop still.

    gh1138, thanks for the link.

I gave Savage Arms Custom Shop a call and spoke to Effie, she would have started building me a rifle right then!

basically, its a current production model 12 series rifle ran through the Custom Shop to build a left handed rifle with a right handed port.

didn't discuss price as I will need to look at what's available in the model 12 series and do some research at to what upgrades are available but this sounds do-able.

thanks to all who chimed in, I'll probably make a post in the long range rifle forum asking about the model 12 and will post a link here
