Why would Sly's son be selling pills?

I'm with CF. I don't think he'd be selling, I just think he used a lot. Either way, his dad's still a badass lol

Yeah, maybe he was giving them away. :dunno:

I GUESS there was evidence of more pills than the average junkie would consume. Maybe they saw a counting scale, cash, small envelopes or other drug stuff to indicate this?

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't that paper, last week or sometime, report a drug bust of a woman dealing in large scale drug sale? The kicker was that she and her BF had sold their internet company for $70 Million in 2000 or 2001.

Here's my question, and I'm being serious so I'd appreciate any knowledgeable answer, preferable from someone with personal experience. Once you're hooked, how many pills would one need daily? Double, triple, five times the prescribed dosage? What?

For example, if your prescription is for (say) 30 pills for the month (ie: 1 a day), and as you become addicted to them, you (obviously?) increase the number of pills you take. But my question is, how high can it become? 3 a day, everyday? 5 a day, everyday? Can you skip days? Can you cut down from (say) 5 to (say) 3 for a day or two or seven?

Guess the question is, how much would a junkie "normally" consume (say) one year after he/she's hooked vs (say) 5 years after he/she is hooked vs. (say) 8 years after he/she is hooked?

If he kept every pill bottle for every script he had ever gotten in his 36 years MAYBE there would be some justification for estimates of 30,000 pills.

Otherwise, he was either dealing, absent minded, or giving them away...

Some people collect old coins, some people collect stamps. Maybe he collected industrial sized prescription pill containers.

Or maybe he kept loose change in them. One for pennies. One for nickles. One for dimes. One for quarters. One for dollar coins. One for subway tokens. :whistling:

Sounds plausible...but then again I collect really large fixed physical structures used by the public - structures I cannot move.

If the amount of product on hand is the only indicator, I wager that a lot of people on this forum are unlicensed arms dealers. :tongueout:

Without too much math I am sure there are over 150,000 pieces of pistol caliber brass downstairs, and probably 100k of pistol ammo in combined calibers.

I like to think of myself more as a part of the distribution chain than a dealer. :whistling:

As a retired LEO who was once the Chief Investigator for the local Drug Task Force...........I can tell ya, by far and away (that's 9 out of 10 for you hard pressed folks) the drug users arrested were also dealers. It seemed to simply be something that went hand in hand with using, when one did enough to keep a lot on hand for their own use...one usually ended up selling them. Just the way it went most of the time.

One often ended up selling to their friends/buddies and so they could make more drug connections. They saw it as "good business".....go figure. It is their spread wide drug connections that bring them to the notice of law enforcement in the first place IMO.

Nine people out of ten can't afford to use unless they deal.

When they sell to their family/friends/buddies, they are making a profit off them. If the they can get pills for $20, they'll sell them for $25 or $30. Whatever prices they can get away with.

I would assume that he wouldn't need the money.

According to the NYT, you're an armory housing an arsenal.

Way to much to simply be considered a cache
