A friend of mine and I are having some problems with ldap on a new install of Suse Enterprise 9. Here is the problem. It will not let you run a mail server without ldap. So we got ldap up and running. You could log in and all that...users where there and everything. Now when he tries to log in it seems as though the database is crashing. Here are the log files when he tried to start ldap.

Thanks for the suggestion. chrismartin. I would have tried it but before I could get some quick research done on what the locks do and the file that webpage was pointing to my friend started a re-install.

I will keep it tucked away in the back of my head for later reference though. Suse 9 Enterprise runs everything through ldap. And since this is new ground for me I am sure I will have more problems later.

    Thanks again.

--edit-- We also had a corrupt file in thd db. Neither one of us know how it got corrupted. Anyway, the new install is working fine, at least for the momment.
