"Two Brooklyn lawyers, and a third upstate New York woman, accused of targeting the NYPD with Molotov cocktails during protests last month were indicted in federal court on Friday. They face life in prison if convicted on every charge.

Lawyers Urooj Rahman, 31, and Colinford Mattis, 32, are accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a parked NYPD vehicle during violent protests in late May.

NYPD surveillance recorded Rahman allegedly tossing the incendiary device before fleeing the area. Police later pursued the individuals and arrested them upon discovering the necessary components for assembling Molotov cocktails inside their vehicle."

I'm sorry...and I have no room to judge... but if proven, the charges will be devastating to them and their families...and for what? For some misguided ideal we throw away our careers and effectively our lives...No, they are Not Patriots...they are Anarchists!

Probably no shortage of closet anarchists coming out of the closet.

Yes, I think it's sad that a couple of people have chosen to throw away their lives by their deliberate actions, but I've often felt that way about people who commit serious criminal acts.

At some point, however, if they're convicted and locked away, I won't be at all surprised if these folks are extolled in the press, and by other opportunistic anarchists, as "political prisoners".

They knew better, and certainly ought to have understood the potential consequences should they get caught, but decided to commit their unlawful acts, anyway.

Sympathy doesn't trump the legitimate consequences of deliberate unlawful actions.

These were extreme radical attorneys that ruined their lives and their careers. Society is better off. Hope they like sex with the welcoming committee.

The simple definition of every criminal.... ever.

Their punishment should be the same as if they had killed those officers. The intent and the muderous mentality is the same, the cops just got lucky. These are grown adults, they should be held accountable for making adult decisions.

*Edit: The car was empty- slap them with an arson charge with a terrorism cling-on.

No sympathy here for these animals. No way, no how.

These are adults and, allegedly, lawyers. They should have been aware of the consequence of their pre-meditated action.

They weren't expecting to get caught. They did. Now, make 'em pay the full price.

Good!!! It's remotely possible that some others that might be inclined to such mayhem will be deterred if it is shown that there are consequences beyond a stern look and a gentle slap on the wrist for such stupidity.

Now if the police car was empty of LEOs then I think the life penalty is a far reach, but jail time for arson is very much open. If there were LEOs in that police car then a long prison term is in order as long as no LEO was injured. If injured then life for terrorism is just!

There is a great difference between education and common sense. I swear, some of the most educated people on the planet don't even have the common sense given a piss ant.

PS: To add, the name of the first one is a bit suspect, if you ask me.

Lawyers that don't care about the law. If guilty, put them away for a long time. Hope they find plenty of friends in lock up.

Unfortunately they will get a plea bargain and spend very little if any time in prison.
