You think the Browns would have shown a little more respect for Rudolf. He was the reason they won.

The league is killing the game with all the BS personal foul calls, they’re concerned about liability not the players.

While I believe Myles crossed a line I can understand how these guys get frustrated when they do what they’re paid to do and get flagged.

Search for Terry Bradshaw/ Turkey Jones, that’s how the game used to be played.

It's a sport populated by thugs , where their continued thug behavior is condoned by their employers and most fans.

Until their behavior is no longer tolerated, this will continue, and even worsen.....

I don't disagree that some of the penalties called nowadays are stupid.

That however, was WAY over the line. I've not heard a single analyst, former and/or current player, condone his actions. A lot of players that played during some of the more violent years

I'm pretty sure that would be considered felony aggravated battery had it occurred anywhere but a football game.

Nope he went beyond “the rules” and will be punished, but I see a bigger issue and that is the NFL needs to decide if they’re Gladiators or professional Wrestlers.

Traditionally they were Gladiators in that they sacrificed themselves for the game.

The teams will play again in Pittsburgh in 17 days. Pouncey and Garrett won't be playing. Should be interesting nonetheless. Who can resist a train wreck?

It's kind of interesting how there is a sort of legal immunity that comes with assaulting someone during a sporting event, outside the normal rules. There is an implied consent that you might just get socked in the face but certainly there is a limit to what a league will allow. Someone pulls out a knife....you're going to big boy court. But the idea that the league can protect you from lower levels of (sometimes felonious) assaults...pretty weird. Even if they ship this off to the DA, does anyone think Rudolph would press charges? Hell no. And, as I understand it, that's what it would take in Ohio.

I'm still "just" watching college ball, but I saw a 5 second incident clip on Fox this morning.

Honestly, it was indeed stupid to swing the helmet but I didn't see any contact on injury.
Seems like a lot to do about not much; particularly compared to the old days of Football and hockey in general.
