I know it's ben beaten to death but my late model GEN 3 G19 is throwing brass at me. So I ordered a Lone Wolf replacement extractor for it. I installed it and the ejection got even more erratic. So I put the Glock extractor back in. No problems with the gun shooting. Just erratic ejection. So since the LLW extractor didn't help do I need the new ejector? Again no problems with the gun shooting. Over 800 rounds now. And like others some ammo is better than others. But the problem seems to be getting worse as I put more rounds through the gun. Glock extractor was very hard to get out by the way.

This where stoning/polishing the extractor will help. I will get my video done up if I can find an MIM extractor around here to use for the video. In short, if you look at your extractor, there is a round semi cone shaped tab on the back of the extractor. This tab sits within a small recess in the slide, you can see this with the extractor removed. The idea here is to use some fine sandpaper, or a gunsmith stone, or dremel to smooth out and polish the tab. I believe Glock had a run of MIM extractors that are oversized, out of spec in that area. It could also be an issue with the recess in the slide being cut out of spec as well. The rule is to polish this area, but don't get crazy with it. You basically want to polish this tab out until your extractor will easily fall out of the slide. Then you know it isn't binding up anywhere. A tell tale sign of this out of spec extractor is that the extractions get worse the more you shoot. I believe this is cause by the metal heating up and expanding, which causes the extractor to bind even more. I will see about getting this video done up here and posted today. TXPO

Here is a couple of pics of the polished tab and the recess in the slide.

That makes sense. When I replaced the stock extractor with the LW model it was hard getting the Glock extractor out. That puppy was lockd in their solid. I'll give it a try. Can't hurt as long as your careful right?

It's better with 124gr. NATO spec ammo or my +p or +P+ carry rounds. They usually get a much better ejection pattern. But it will still throw one to the left or straight up vry onc in awhile. I guess I'm lucky that it has been 100% reliable as far as feeding, firing, and ejecting. Just getting bonked in the head even with glasss and a cap.
