The last few weekends I've been out on a hog" jihad slaughtering spree". I hunted and killed 2 medium & 1 small sized hogs here in south florida area. Over all the experience was vey nice and the outcome ( for me and not the hog ) was good. 1st, I took a 89lbs ( field dress weight ) young boar hog. This was done on a private land & with a dog ( walker-treein hound see picure ) and this hog was taken with a 45colt handgun at about 12yrds. The hog whent down with a big cloud of dust right where the hound dog bayed the hog at. This is typical of most wild hogs taken here in florida ( sorry to burst the internet bubble, but 500lbs + hogs are far and between the norm in florida and in the wild at that ). It was shot thru-and thru the boiler room and died without a squeal or Oink. location = western Okeechoobe county, FL weight = field dress at 89lbs weighed weapon = ruger Redhawk 7.5" bbl w/2x weaver scope load = handload 320gr drycreek keith style bullet , behind 21gr of lil'gun and cci300 primer with winchester brass ( a not too bad of a load and nice bullet ) http://www.creeker.net/bullets.htm the bullet isn't shown but they do have it availabale.
