It is great on a chili dog -

Squirt a rope of cheese the length of the hot dog bun - add some hot chili - then some mustard - place dog on top - another layer of cheese - then more chili

I'm sort full up. Spent about $600 in the past 4-5 week topping off my supplies - Just in case.
Just a few minor things left to buy.

I'm not so worried about anybody in the family being infected as I am worried about a general quarantine and having to stay inside for 2+ months.

I think the four of us would be easily good for at least 4-5 months before we have to resort to opening the pails of rice and beans. More if we rotate the rice and beans in right from the beginning. Soak the beans overnight, then bring to a boil and put into a thermos for ~3 hours to cook. For the rice, bring to a boil and put into a thermos for ~1.5 hours to cook. Wrap thermos in a towel to help keep in the heat. Lay on its side. Rotate bottle every 10-15 minutes.

    Need
    =====
    more Dry Yeast
    more Cooking Oil
    30 Gal Gas for generator
2 Gals Fuel for camp stoves/lanterns (white gas)
    Hard candy

Was just at the grocery store -

I checked out the Spam - all well stocked except the turkey - a few days ago Walmart was out of turkey.

Based off this thread and the inventory levels --

Grabbed 3 (of the 4) cans of turkey --- and 2 original.

Also bought 20 more cans of assorted vegetables and a few cans of beans.

We are almost out of space in the cupboards - so some is now stored in the garage cupboards.

I also bought an extra 1/2 gallon of milk - put it in the freezer -- I know people freeze milk all the time - but I never have - so I am doing my own test.

I think China was / is being totally dishonest about the number of infected and dead -

Now it is in South Korea - they will be a little bit more honest with the stats - so we will be able to have better information.

I have a bad feeling about this -- hope I am wrong.

    Chap Stick.

I found out yesterday that the half and full face masks that I have been using around the farm are no longer being manufactured.:brickwall: I have new masks on the way and searching for new filters for them.

I just got done putting in an order for masks and filters. It seems like the shipping is plenty high. I picked up another box of N95 masks for just under $26.00 and the P100 filters are going for $8.80 for a 2 pack.

I was in Lowes - decided to see if they had any N-95 masks -

Had one 20 count box - only $20 -- but someone had opened the cardboard box - and you could also tell the inside plastic wrapper had also been ripped opened -

    So I didn't buy it -

    I bought Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer today -

Think I will get 50 gallons of gas Monday - says keeps fuel fresh for 2 years - but that seems way too long - maybe I could store it 7 months - that would get me mostly through hurricane season (June 1 - November 30) --

If things look like they are going to get bad I could also fill up the generators - refill / fill the rest of my gas cans. Think in total that is about 75 gallons.

I am thinking the chance we lose power is pretty small - so this may be a slight over reaction -

But I would rather have it and not need it - than need it and not have it!

I go through an internet industrial safety type place, it's all sealed boxes. While I was shopping their site, many of the masks were back ordered into March and April. The N95's that I ordered ship in 5 to 10 days.

Any idea where those masks are made? I have not purchased masks so far. I thought I read that they were not effective.

I think you could probably go a month so long as you are stocked up on:
    Your meds
    Water (well, municipal or bottled)
    Ramen
    Summer Sausage
    Cheddar cheese
    Crackers
    Gatorade
Whisky (do NOT mix with Gatorade)
    Flashlight Batteries
    (You remembered your meds?)
    Ammo
    Lube

Remember to not tell your neighbors that you have stocked up.
