i ran across a used lm guide rod for $200. it would be for my 26 gen 3. anybody here have one. what are your likes & dislikes. does it affect relieability of gun. do not want to affect that. it comes with spare batteries.

I had one on my G27 and it worked great for one shot. I could turn it on and take a shot but the recoil of the .40 round would cause the switch to turn off. Occasionally it would stay on for 2-3 shots but no more than that. It did not affect the function or reliability of the pistol. It might work alot better on the 9mm round due to the lighter recoil. I sold mine to a guy who was installing his on a G26.

The one in my G27 works fine...in fact that may be my most accurately shot gun/laser setup. I bought the setup used, and think it may have the connector for lighter trigger pull which could be a positive accuracy factor.

It is nice but not friendly for holstering the gun. It could activate the laser by inserting in the holster or if you have big legs.

Yeah I regretted brought G30 Laser guide rod. I should have gone with CT. It's much more simple and easy to use. You could adjust the point of impact with CT. That's a big plus.

However, if you want a crazy laser, then I would recommend you to go with a green laser. It's a totally sick laser, where you could see the laser in a sunny day.

I have one, been nothing but problems.
    Turns itself on/off with recoil.
    The laser died slowly.
    Their customer service sucks.

I put a guide rod LaserMax on my P220 in 1997. It still works like a champ.

The models have changed and the batteries are getting a little harder to get, but it's like a Timex.

Got a used one for the G17. Replaced the guide rod spring for ten bucks. Just spoke with LaserMax customer service this morning and they were AWESOME.

I have 2. They work fine. I've also had good luck with Lasermax customer service.

I have 3 and they all turn themselves on and off when they want, not when I want. I've been sent new springs, switches etc... to no avail. My experience is that it is an unreliable novelty product. Too bad too, I really like the concept

I've got 2 for 9mm. One for a G19 and one for a G17. They both perform as yours did.

Another word: Your life may depend on some electronic part. The mechanical guide rod, that came in the gun, is always gonna work. Especially if you put a steel one in. Actually, several words. My mouth ran away, with me.

I bought one years ago. I regretted that purchase.
They sell for 20X what they are worth.
Ask yourself why are they selling it?
