I ripped this straight from another forum:
Some people step into harm's way and do what they can in the midst of tragedy because it is their job. Those people are heros.
Some people step into harm's way and do what they can in the midst of tragedy without training and without any knowledge other than that their fellow man needs help. Those people are giants.
That was a very powerful documentary. To this day, I can remember exact details of things in my own life on 9/11 like it was yesterday. I can't remember what I ate for dinner a couple of nights ago, but I remember everything about that day. God bless those who were there and stepped up to help their fellow man.
What happened that day kind of made me feel better about our society because of the way people pulled together. Although that day the terrorist got in a huge hit, they did not win, not even on that day because we started our resolve on that day. They thought it would result in just complete disorder and kaos but the opposite happened.
IMHO, it's the human spirit which creates heroes. Unfortunately, some of them are no longer with us.
