Any advice on extra mags for my G43 (9mm) and G36 (.45) ? Looking for larger mags than the 6 plus 1 but since I am in MASS the limit I believe is 10 per mag. Went on Gun Mag Warehouse and found Elite Tactical Systems (ETS) Glock 43 9mm 9 round Mag (SKU # GLK-43-9) and Glock Gen 4 Glock 21, 21SF, .45 ACP 10 Round Factory Mag (SKU # MF10021)

- Is this the best I can find out there or are there any other recomendations
- Will these work correctly with my 2 Glocks ?

Thank you all my new friends on GT

Here is the links to the 2 mags I am asking about:

Any advice on extra mags for my G43
My smarmy answer is to buy the just-released Sig P365. Same size as the 43, with 10+1 capacity.

My non-smarmy answer is that those ETS mags work well, and gunmagwarehouse is a first rate vendor.

Until I get a P365, my preference is to run the stock 6 round mags in the 43, and keep a spare mag on my weak side belt in a minimalist kytexgear mag carrier.

I use MagGuts +1 extension in my G43 (I have also used Pearce +1, but I prefer flat plate nags). With my G43, I did have to modify my G43's ejector to get the MagGuts kit to work reliably, but I think this is the exception versus the rule with most G43's. My issues with the MagGuts kit and my stock gun was with the last round jam of wide mouth hollow points like my carry round the Federal HST 124gr and Speer GD 124gr.

I have had no troubles at all with my 9 round and 12 round ETS mags in my 43. I did with the seven rounds. In fact, when I loaded them with seven rounds I had seven out of eight times a failure to feed the first round. After the first round, no issues ever. But what’s the sense of having a seven round magazine if you could only put six in it? No such trouble with the nines and 12s except one of my 12 round magazine’s had one minor issue with aluminum cased ammunition the very first time it was loaded and then that was never repeated again with it or any of the four other 12 on magazines I had. Zero issues with the nine round mags.

Here's what I'm running on my 43. Taran Tactical magazines and magazine extensions. They're not cheap but they work.

When I carry my 43 I have the +1 or +2 installed in the pistol and a +2 or +3 in my back pocket mag pouch. I've heard there were some issues with the earlier version but in my experience the newer versions work great. Not just with me but with other people who I know. As far as the ETS mags, I have no experience with them. If you do a forum search you should find some good info.

Re the 36, I carry it as is. And as heavyduty pointed out, the G21 mag will not work in your 36. (That's a typo / error on their website.)

What happens in MA, if you have an over the limit mag (??>10), and who checks?

(I used to live in Boston, back then, I don't think there was a mag limit bc I had many >10.

Oh, and by the way, Glock store has some 10 round mags that are actually stock mags with a plus 4 extension That is a really unique design. You can see the video on their website. It has its own self contained Spring and mechanism at the bottom of the bag that bolts on. It’s unique. I have four of those. Three of them seem to function fine and the fourth gave me trouble till I modified it. I’m not sure of their reliability because of that. And also they make the grip unacceptably big in my opinion.

GREAT ADVICE GUYS !!
Thank you again.

If I were to keep it simple and just go with the "Factory 6 Capacity Mag" (just get extra mags to fill at home before hitting the range) where would you buy those ?
I could not find them for sale on the Glock Site

He’s talking about “Glock Store” which is horribly overpriced on everything.

Here they are on Optics Planet. They have very good prices on things.

I have them and like them. I don’t normally use the G43 these days and wouldn’t carry like that. But the 10 round is a quick, easy option for more rounds when wearing a jacket or some place that uber concealment isn’t an issue.

Here’s a pic for comparison.

Left to right. Kimber Micro 9 with extended magazine (7 rounds), G33 (same size as G26), G43 with 10 round mag for illustration, and full size G22 RTF2 (same size as G17).

What ever you end up with, my suggestion would be to thoroughly test it with your actual carry ammo. Most people assume that a 1000 rounds of FMJ means it would be just as reliable with a wide mouth hollow point. It may well be, but I have read of a few forum members that turned out not to be the case.

I have sidelined my plus extensions until I can do that testing.

As to where? Many online vendors sell them as listed above.

For G43, I have tried and shot extensively (i.e., 14K rounds) with MagGuts +1 and Pearce +1 (with Glock Store ext power mag spring) with great success - no feed issue at all.
I have also tested TTI +1 and +2 with success, but not as extensively... (I’ve only shot about a couple hundred rounds of my carry ammo to test them.)

Sorry, I have no experience with ETS magazines, as I generally do not trust aftermarket magazines, except Mec-Gar pistol magazines and Magpul AR magazines.

I have Pearce +1 extensions that have been flawless. I also have Vickers +2s which have never caused a malfunction, but seem to require me to slam the mags home hard to ensure they seat properly. The Vickers come with stronger springs so I’m thinking they might improve over time as the spring breaks in. However, I won’t carry those mags anymore. I also have a few OEM flush mags for that option. I buy mags when they go on sale on Midway or Brownell’s. Gunmagwarehouse has pretty solid prices and cheap shipping.

If you make a sizable order from optics planet, you can chat with the CS folks online and negotiate a better price. (Over $200 or so)
I didn't know that, thanks for the tip!

PS - I have had a number of orders larger than $200 with them, definitely left some money on the table.
