Today I had a coworker who wanted to trade me his S&W 65-5, .357 magnum Lady Smith K Frame 3 inch barrel for my Ruger SP101, .357 magnum. Who am I to turn down a friend...

Nice revolver for sure. I've always liked the look of the S&W 3913 Lady Smith.....but I'm not secure enough in my sexuality to ever think of actually buying one.......

They made this model sans "Lady Smith " engraving, the 3913 NLS (non Lady Smith). The 3913 is a GREAT single stack 9mm imo.

But I think it did have pink grip screws. :)

Nice 65-5. A 65 3" is always nice, the ejector shroud just adds to the package. They should have done all Model 13/65 3" and 4" like that imo.

Congratulations on a fine carry revolver. Your gun has nice collectors value now, your friends "new to him " SP101 will too...in about 25-30 years.

One of my friends has the Lady Smith 3913. And he’s not even light in the loafers! It’s a great gun. If he’d sell it I would be all over it.

My 101 was a 3 inch too but I couldn’t ever warm up to it. When he asked me if I would trade I thought he was screwing with me. Then I ran to the gun safe and damn near threw him the Ruger.

I have a S&W 908, it’s an older early blued model of the 3913. I call it the original shield. Great small single stack that’s very easy to carry.

You need a Tyler T-grip adaptor for that gun. But whatever you do, don't put rubber grips on it and throw the magna grips away.

If you can't find a genuine Tyler T-grip adaptor, BK grips makes an accurate replacement. I had one on a model 58 Smith and Wesson M&P 41 magnum I used to have.

You got the best end of the trade. The SP-101 is too bulky for a 5 shot and the Smith has a better trigger.

I used to have a Ruger Speed six. (The fixed sight version of the Security Six) with a 2 3/4 inch barrel and it was smaller than a GP-100 and only slightly larger than an SP-101 but held one more round. with a trigger job, it was the perfect 357 snubbie.

3” round butt K frames are as good as it gets for concealed carry in the relm of revolvers.

Having a full grip and a full length ejector rod make all the difference IMO. Not to mention a Six shot cylinder and clearance to properly use speed loaders.

I often carry my 3” model 64 with a Safariland Comp II speed loader on my belt. I feel very well armed with that setup.

mine is not a magnum though. I carry it loaded with Gold Dot short barrel .38 special.

You did good on that deal my friend.

Great trade for you! They're still making SP101s.

Love the Lady Smith's ejector rod's full underlug, especially the curve at the barrel end. Aggressive yet sexy. And a 3-inch barrel to boot!!!

Your revolver reminds me of the Ruger "Six" guns.
