It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/Paramedic Ryan A. Hummert of IAFF Local 2665 - Professional Fire Fighters of Eastern Missouri. Brother Hummert, 22, died on Monday, July 21, 2008 as a result of wounds received after being shot by a gunman while responding to a car fire. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 7456 Manchester Road, Maplewood, Missouri 63143, (314) 781-1115. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church of Maplewood, 2934 Marshall Avenue, Maplewood, Missouri 63143, (314) 645-3307.
