Dad was in Korea, and carried and M1 for the USMC. If they come up, I'm buying one.

I think he'd be pleased. I doubt he'd ever shoot it, but he'd like that I have one.

Why not buy one from the CMP instead?

Something tells me they may have a higher selling price than I am willing to give when the transaction and importing is said and done........

I guess the carbines are still a no go?

IIRC the Garands were allowed to return to the US, but a large supply of Carbines were not, because of their ability to take "high capacity magazines."

Considering they bought those rifles why shouldn't they sell them?

For those that claim "we" gave the rifles to the South Koreans, I have a question:

    A. Were you old enough to pay taxes to fund these rifles back in the Korean War?

If yes, then you can say "we". If not then where is this "we" come from?

Probably the same "we" as when people say we beat the British to earn our freedom. It's probalby more accurate than when people say "we" won the game when their sports team does well.

When the Korean m1 were blocked from importation GNG was up in arms how Obama was restricting our gun rights and refusing to let our rifles come home, now GNG is mad because they are being sold back to us?

Just for the record, the carbines are still being blocked by the Obama administration.

So if we got the carbines instead of the rifles this would be a thread about how the glorious SK government are shipping our carbines home:rofl:
