My father and I took his 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster that he bought recently downtown to a exotics shop called Kings Cross Automotive. Once a year, their customers get together for a small meet and greet. There were some BEAUTIFUL cars there!

I took about 52 pictures with my new smart phone. I'll try and remember the details with each picture. (EDIT: this could take me a while to upload all of these; probably an hour at least). I apologize if the color is off on some of these pictures....I'm new to smartphones, and I'm still learning the ropes. I'm not sure what the picture limit is per post, so I will be doing 10 pictures per post, just to be on the safe side.

This first post will be dedicated to the Aston, and then we'll move on to the other cars that were there in the next posts.

Without further ado....

Here's dad getting the Aston ready just before we left.

Quick stats: 4.3 liter V8, 385 hp (he's thinking about getting it supercharged to 650 hp, but he's a stinker for keeping his cars stock....he REALLY likes the idea of that much power though), factory-painted Porsche-yellow paint job with matching yellow interior stitching, factory lowered suspension, TSW after-market wheels (they came with the car, but he has the originals, which are black). Not sure what size these are, but I REALLY like them.

The pistons that lower the roof are shot, so it only goes down half-way. He's got 4 of them on order, and the shop should be hearing back from Aston Martin about them next week, along with some oxygen sensors for the engine. Until then, however, the top is gonna have to stay up. :(

Once we were downtown:

It drew quite a crowd. A girl saw the car there earlier in the week when it was in the shop (her family owns a couple of exotics themselves) and came around to look at it about 5 or 6 times while we were there. I eventually asked her if she would like to sit in it, which she quickly accepted.

A couple of beauties in their 20s also hung out in the driver's seat and took selfies....unfortunately, I failed in my opportunity to provide all of you with "dat azz".... :(

That's pop's car done. The next posts will contain the other cars that were there. Some beautiful Jags coming up!

Land Rovers, for those of you that like them. I don't know much about them, I'm afraid.

Alright, it's going to be all Jags from here on out. I'll try to include any information I can remember about them.

A couple of BEAUTIFUL F-types here. One was a supercharged V8 convertible, unknown year I'm afraid (beautiful blue color though). And the other was a monster....a 2017 F-type SVR Coupe (more details on the car below).

First, the blue F-type:

And now the 2017 F-Type SVR. 5.0 liter V8, 575 hp, about $128,000 MSRP. One of the most badass cars I think I've ever seen.

Sorry, some of these pictures are crap, because the spaces were tight, and there were a lot of people.

The amount of carbon fiber on this car has to be seen to be believed. CF splitters, CF mirrors, CF roof, CF interior.....absolutely gorgeous car.

Unfortunately, that's all I have on this car. People were constantly trying to talk to me about the cars, and everyone was crowded around this car, so it just wasn't possible to get good shots of it, especially with where it was parked. The owner never lifted the hood or had the windows down either.

The rest of the Jags were nice, but nothing incredibly exotic to write home about. A couple of beautiful XKRs though, IIRC.

Final few pictures in the next post.

Beautiful cars and thank you for the post.

I probably wouldn't be able to afford an aircleaner for most of those cars.

Thanks for those wonderful pictures, amigo.
I have long been an admirer of the Jaguar XJ series, especially the first incarnation of the 1970s.

It is what a sedan (saloon) should look and drive like.

They're beautiful. I've always loved the sleek lines of the older models pre-Ford.

I've had a couple of XJ's and a Triumph in my life, and I loved both. Very nice.

I owned an MGB and wish I still had it. Was poor and could only afford one vehicle at the time. With our first baby on the way, I needed to get something bigger than a two seater. Traded it for a Volkswagen bus.

The Rolls Drophead Phantom is such an awesome car. Over half a million brand new, but you can pick up a used one for around $200K.

I'll always have a soft spot for the 90's Land Rover Discovery. The design was unique.

The old cars are cool, the new ones, meh. I see it all the time, but I still don't get it.

So you spent a lot of money on a new car ?

Not exactly the kind of stuff I want to see at a car show. Now something that's old and rare, or old and restored, or old an original, that I can appreciate.

They had a Jag E-type being restored in the shop, but it was in such poor shape that I couldn't bring myself to take a picture.

I kind of regret that now.

Old cars were new once, too. Is there a waiting period before you can show a new car off? HH
