Was NC one of the states to pass laws against such regulations or not? Either way the authorities making these rules need to be removed from office. Also does NC have preemption about gun regulations?
KING, N.C. -- Authorities lifted a curfew and alcohol restrictions in King on Sunday, but said a state of emergency declaration remained in effect until Monday.
Authorities said the state of emergency declaration would continue until Monday 9 a.m., barring any unforeseen circumstances or severe changes.
Effective Sunday afternoon, alcohol restrictions and a curfew were lifted. All other remaining restrictions would continue until Monday, said Paula May, King police chief.
Other restrictions include a ban on the sale or purchase of any type of firearm, ammunition, explosive or any possession of such items off a person's own premises.
Also on Sunday, the emergency shelter established by the American red Cross at West Stokes High School was closed.
"We appreciate the support and cooperation of everyone with our efforts to keep the citizens of King safe," May said.
The state of emergency was declared Friday due to severe weather.
So, they allow the sale of alchohol, but you still can not purchase firearms/ammo, and can not have said items off of your property? WTF?
Makes me feel stupid because I saw the thread and said "What happened? Why is there a state of Emergency?"
Then I realized I live in Florida....it was 35degrees this morning but I completely forgot about all the horrible snowstorms up there since we don't get snow
I've never seen so many people act like idiots because of a little snow.
Yeah, because the snow is sufficient reason to suspend the Constitution.
Never heard of King till this thread and it sounds like Ms. Paula may have gotten too big for her britches, but......
how many of you are actually going to wait until the SHTF situation happens, and then go shopping for guns and ammo???
If such a declaration were to happen in our city it's a very good bet that any and all elected politicians involved would not survive it.
LOL...yeah, I will bet the attrition rate of YOUR politicians will be the same as theirs. None.
This has happened, is happening, and will happen in the future. Gun owners will do as they have always done. Obey the government no matter what.
They count on that, and they can.

Based on the formatting of other city employee emails posted on their web site, I'm going to guess her email is [email protected]
To what does this apply then?
You should have seen all of the traffic jams around our supermarkets on the day before the storm.
These people had ample warning what was approaching any yet waited till the last minute.
What will they do when an unexpected emergency occurs?
Go to the same store and loot?
Typical overreation. Hey, it's snowing out...someone burn the constitution to keep warm. I'd love to see this hold up in court if I did leave my property with my properly licensed firearm and CCW.
It would be an interesting judical test of the above referenced law banning the confiscation of arms for the sake of an "emergency".
[email protected] is correct. I found it on her "Dear Citizens" page.....
And here's a pic of her.... also on the web site....
Never had such a "State of Emergency" like that declared in my state.
This is a load of horse pucky!!!!!
