Springfield with their BS a few years ago, now we have Kimber's VP posting all kind of stuff on social media about how he's anti NRA. He posted about how happy he was that Biden won the election.

I guess if your main product was designed to hold 7 rounds, you don't mind grabby politicians being in office.

Seems like Kimber fans had the guy sniffed out back in 2018:

Kimber's FB page is getting tore up.

Man, the last issue of "The American Rifleman" I got had an article of several pages extolling the virtues of Kimber's latest version of the same old 1911, but in 10MM, and lots and lots of holes in the slide....making it a good choice for 10mm 1911's with lots and lots of holes in the slide fan-boys.

If Kimber cuts their ads in NRA magazines, the next editions could come in by messenger pigeon.

Dam. My wife has a Kimber Micro380, and it is really, really nice.

Gah.

Then again, I'm not thrilled with the NRA right now either - LaPierre needs to retire, even if it is with a golden parachute.

Well, apparently, this guy is no longer employed by Kimber as of some time last year.

Here's a recent article about him spewing his crap about "constitutional carry".

There are/were a lot of people running businesses who don't give two sheets about the product or end user.

FWIW, I know Kimber has come a long way, but whenever someone brought a new Kimber on the range to qual with it, it was seemingly a coin toss to find out if it would complete a course-of-fire without the owner experiencing a stoppage.

Then, one CCW shooter, who was also a competitor of some time and experience, said that she'd had her "personal gunsmith" go through her 2 Kimbers so they'd run better in competition. She'd just received them back from the smith in time for a qual course. The day she was telling me this she experienced some stoppages with one of them on our range, during a qual course-of-fire, and said that one was going back to her smith for more work. Of course, that was probably in the early 2000's, so maybe it's not indicative of the newer ones.

They do make pretty 1911's, though.

I have owned 2 Kimbers. One 1911 and one at their attempt at a double stack 45, Ten II I think? Meh at best. I sold them both. I do not understand the hype.

From my understanding their manufacturing has primary been done in Ridgefield NJ (Aero) and Yonkers New York. Now in process of to relocating to Troy, AL. Please check me on these facts, for it is not clear to me if anything remains in these two extremely Anti 2A states. Spider senses tell me the NJ thing is probably still around?? The above needs fact checking.

If you read some of the history of Kimber it has NOT been smooth sailing.

I am guessing some of these upper management types, like a lot of companies do not care what product they make, its about the money and nothing but the money.

Hell, I know a lot of LGS owners that in a dark room and if they are honest, lean towards being glad Xiden won. It has been great for business.

I once saw someone shooting one of our steel plate games with a Kimber 1911 of sorts (only one I've ever seen). It jammed. So, I can say All the Kimbers I've ever seen were jamm-o-matics. :)

Kimbers are overpriced and extremely mediocre. That said, a lot of gun owners don't like the NRA.

That's some harsh words about the organization that featured a Kimber on the front cover of their monthly magazine. It was the Kimber slotted iceman 1911 thingee. Finally, finally someone offered a 10mm with an ambi-safety out of the box, now if they only figured out that adjustable sights were the way to go for 10mm it might qualify as interesting. Oh, and if it was actually accurate. It's bench rest 25 yard groups were 2.55-3.31". Not bad, but hardly impressive. I have yet to see anyone carry a 1911 10mm as a "combat" pistol, but seems like every manufacturer puts fixed "combat" sights on them. There's always an exception to the rule, but it seems everyone I know, and all the people they know carry a 10mm in the woods, on a trail, or use it for hunting. All the places where accuracy matters. Oh wait there's more, 10mm's run the gamut from 135-220 grains with velocities ranging from 1000-1300+. Hard to believe, but they all don't have the same point of impact. I know, crazy. Adjustable sights would solve that problem. Imagine such an easy solution. Hmmm, hello 10mm manufactures. You listening????? Please stop treating 10mm's like a 9mm carry guns. Please. And Wayne, you need to go. The NRA needs new blood.
