I don't have that model, but Have owned 9 Kimbers, with no complaints. 2 were the Ultra size guns (UCII and Ultra Raptor) and both are great guns. You won't go wrong with the Ultra Covert.

My LGS had a used one for sale. Looked nice, but I'm a little weary of buying a used Kimber.

I've had 2 stainless Ultra Carry IIs with zero problems. Multiple brands of mags (officer and fullsize) , mutiple brands of ammo (230gr only in standard or +P) and have never had a malfunction in either of them.

    My current UCII

for a first 1911 I will go with 5" or at least a 41/4" like the commander size

One of the best looking Kimbers made, IMO.

I bought a used Ultra CDP II about three years ago. At 25 oz, 7+1 rounds of .45 ACP and a 3" barrel, it is a great little carry gun. Everything on it is match grade and it carries fine on a belt slide, IWB or cocked and locked in my SmartCarry crotch holster. I have found it to be quite reliable and accurate, although it is a little terse to shoot. But I preferred that recoil to the glock 27 40S&W, which I have since sold. Try it out. You will like it. Stay safe and good shooting

iHad and carried an ultra carry and a pro carry, 4in, both were great pistols , but i dumped them in favor of a Glock 19, as i feel more comfy with more rounds in the gun, this from past experience....but Kimber does make good guns.....great eye appeal, but for the street i prefer a glock....a gun is a tool to me, a way of staying alive...nothing more...nothing less..
