After waiting four months for the Kimber Solo, it finally came in! My LGS contact called me late last night to let me know he had one set aside. I just stopped by this morning and picked it up.

It's raining now, if it lets up I'll hit the range today. Can't wait to try it out.

Enjoy your Solo. I handled a couple again last weekend and they certainly seem very nicely finished and much more "melted" than several of the other small pistols.

Looks better on here vs. the small cell phone pic you sent earlier. Sorry we couldn't make it to the range. Maybe this weekend.

I like mine. Very accurate. I modified Talon grip tape for mine so I could hold it better. As 33BLD posted, you can see he added some grip material as needed also. Mine needed about 25-30 rounds to break in. Less than a typical Kimber.

    Congrats!

Went to the range yesterday and it did not turn out well at all. The side was locking after each shot and I could not figure out why. When I got home I found out that there is a little tension spring on the frame for the slide lock pin. This spring keeps tension on the slide lock until the mag is empty. I must have missed the spring when reinstalled the pin for the first cleaning before the range, leaving the slide lock free floating that cased the slide to lock after each shot.

All this could have been avoided if I would have read the instructions fully:faint:

Oh-well, it gives me another reason to head to the rang:whistling:
