The local Kimber dealer struggles with inventory, so after finally finding an on-line price I could live with, I dropped the hammer, so to speak, on one of these today:

I know that late-model Kimbers have their detractors, but I like the overall package and for less than $1k it's hard to find one setup like this from anyone else. The II features won't survive long once it lands, and it may need some better grips, but then I suspect it should serve just fine... and if any MIM parts fail, y'all will be the first to know!

Congrats. I really like the way they look. We have had an Aegis II on the way for a while now. My fiance is getting it from her dad, but for now it is stuck somewhere out in the sticks where there are no FFL's Report back when yours arrives, ours might get here sometime this year :whistling:

I don't know why, but I really like the grips on those.

The grips look better than they feel, to me.

I have a set of the slim Navidrex double diamond checkered grips in black rose-wood that will offer more "grip" and feel better, to me.

Replaced the factory pic with a pic of mine.

It now wears the Navidrex grips, and has an Ed Brown mag catch as well as a checkered aluminum MSH from VZ Grips.
