I am going to buy a Kimber pistol and I am looking at the Tactical Pro II. The only concern that I have is the steel slide. Does anyone carry a Kimber with a stell slide, and if so are there any surface rust issues with carrying it? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

I have a TLE / RL II. No rust issues but I also wipe mine down frequently with a silicone cloth. I love the pistol.

I own a Pro Carry II and its been great. No rust issues in 4years . Clean it after shooting per manual and it's good to go. Go get the Kimber you will love it. To add , I lived at the beach most of the 4 years also.

In Texas Kimbers (esp the barrel) tend to rust. I have seen a number of Kimbers NIB in the showcase with rust on the barrel. No big deal (just surface rust) just keep em clean and maintained and they are fine. I would not let it keep you from buying one, it really is not that big of a deal.

I've carried a Custom II for the five years that I have lived in Florida, no issues with rust.

The barrel on my kimber was highly prone to rusting.

I take good care of my firearms and still to this day I've never had that problem since the kimber.
