I know a lot of you are from Florida and and I am sure that others on here have a secret simple Key Lime pie recipe.
I am wanting to make a couple for Christmas, but have never tried one.
    Someone help a brother out.
    Thank you.

As a native Floridian, here are the keys to a Proper Key Lime pie.
Use real key lime juice - if you can find real key limes (Persian limes will do in a pinch) you get the best result. Can you just use Regular lime juice! Oh hells no.
Use graham crackers for the crust
    Use condensed milk
    Make your own whipped cream

easy? No. Worth it? Fork yes.

Why don't you try making a peanut butter pie instead? It's simple enough a guy can do it.

    Peanut butter pie

9 inch chocolate cookie crumb crust. I buy the ready made ones because I'm lazy (don't tell Mommy LOL).

    1/2 package Philadelphia Cream Cheese

1 cup Skippy creamy peanut butter

    1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar

    1 tub cool whip

Mix the cream cheese, peanut butter, and sugar in a big bowl. Stir in the cool whip and whisk until smooth (no lumps). Pour into pie crust and put it in the fridge for several hours until it is firm.

Before you serve it you can drizzle some Hershey's syrup on top for eye appeal. (On Daddy's birthday I write "Happy Birthday Daddy" in cursive LOL)

Thats it. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Love key lime pie!!! So simple to make.
    9" graham cracker pie shell
1- 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    3 egg yolks
3/4 cup Key Lime juice (some folks use 1/2 cup but I like mine more tart)
Combine the milk, yolks and juice and blend/whisk until smooth.
Pour in pie shell and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Let it stand for 10 minutes or so and then refrigerate.
Before serving you can top it with whip cream and/or garnish it with lime slices.

I prefer mine straight up. Don't like to dilute the lime flavor.

Here is one I make. I have a Key Lime tree and a Persian Lime tree ( can work also ) in my yard.

9 " Graham Cracker Pie Crust

    Filling:
3/4 cup Key Lime juice ( squeezed from key limes or bottled juice
    1/2 cup light sour cream
    28 ox. sweet condensed milk
    zest from four key limes

    Topping:
    1 cup heavy whipping cream
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 350
Whisk first four ingredients. Pour into pie crust. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool, then refrigerate for three hours.

Beat the heavy cream and sugar with a mixer until you get stiff peaks, then add vanilla. Spread on chilled pie and garnish with some lime zest.

It don't get much easier, except Publix makes a pie I like also.

Publix key lime pie is as good as you can make. That's why I never bother making it.

Just kidding; it's my Meyer Lemon tree. I don't have any pictures of the Key Lime when it is full.

Dude, that’s a bush, not a tree. Did you grow it from a seed?

I don’t like traditional keylime pie. I mean lime juice and sweetened condensed milk? Come on.

Outback used to have the best keylime anything, anywhere. It was keylime cheesecake. It was the best.

Most commercial " key lime " pies are actually made from Persian limes. The secret is to use the key limes when they are green before they ripen to yellow. They are more acidic when they are green and balance the sweetness of the sugar better.

Why do you bake that when there's nothing in it that actually "bakes"? I can understand baking it when it has eggs, but nothing in your ingredient list would benefit from baking.

Call me confused about this one.

I agree with Hannie on Publix. Their bakery is top notch. Not to mention subs, chicken and all their other prepared foods. Although I enjoy cooking it is very convenient to purchase quality from Publix. I can spend $10.00 and 3 hrs labor on a homemade pie or I can spend $7.00 on a very good quality Publix pie with no hassles.
